A couple of days in between projects resulted in this opener for a series of instructional videos showcasing various aspects of the design process.
The concept was loosely based around the idea that design is a transformative experience - in this case objects associated with the creation of bright ideas literally transform into primative building blocks.
An alternate dark version was also produced to be more overtly 'on brand'.
Rendered using Octane Render.

Jakubi, one of the freshest bands to hit the Melbourne music scene, have well and truly been punching above their weight. This 5 piece draws their inspiration from genre’s as diverse as hip-hop, funk, pop and grunge rock.
'Jakubi' is a fictional planet, so where better to set this intro animation? I created this 80's inspired, animation heavily influenced by the videogame box art of the period - all chrome text, neon colours and brush script font. The animation serves as an intro piece for promotional videos.

The Icon is an apartment development in the heart of Melbourne's St Kilda.
The brief was to create a teaser video which exudes sophistication and class, showcasing the lifestyle opportunities in the area. The video below is a snippit of the titles created for the piece.
I chose to work with the strong type, establishing the brandmark throughout the video with close crops on the text and use of gentle lighting, mimicking the tones found in the building facade.
I also created several glass shard transitions, used to transition between interior and exterior architectural renderings.
The video was displayed on the 'registration of interest' microsite and on loop as part of a display suite, showcasing the property to potential buyers/investors.

Haven is a property development. My role was to create a data inspired segment to add visual flourish and show the building itself.
Delivered in a very short time frame, I pulled the architectural CAD data into Cinema 4D, which was shaded and animated. A short, low budget shoot without green screen meant that extensive rotoscoping took place in After Effects to remove the talent from his orginal background.

BP needed to create an interactive presentation to wow it's investors. The experience would ultimately encompass projection mapping as well as cutting edge 3D visuals for an immersive experience, which toured worldwide.
I was design lead on the project and closely liaised with the agency Jack Morton and co-creators Marshmallow Laser Feast to create a look and feel for the visuals.
My main task was to develop a system of information graphics which could be used to explain technical processes in an easy to understand manner. I was responsible for ensuring consistency in the application of graphics and so it was essential that I was in constant communication with the Nuke, Maya, AFX and C4D operators as well as leading a team of 5 designers and animators in creating the motion graphics themselves. A key challenge was interpreting highly technical/scientific documents and making the information within easy to understand.
Here's a few initial concept images from the project. I do not take responsibility for the creation of 3D models or environments. These images are conceptual styleframes which I created. My role was that of art director and design lead.
The project was a winner of the Kantar 'Information Is Beautiful Awards'.
