VÆRIDION requested a high-fidelity computer-generated film that would introduce their revolutionary all-electric aircraft to the world; before its first flight.
As an innovative Series A startup in a critical growth phase, VÆRIDION needed impactful storytelling assets to power a new website, executive and social communications, and large-format conference displays. With investment rounds on the horizon, the company required cinematic content to captivate investors and reinforce its position as a leader in electric aviation, for a product still in development.
To bridge this gap, we turned to Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) and cinematic 3D animation. The goal was to craft a visually compelling narrative that highlights the Microliner’s sleek design, sustainable mission, and engineering innovation; positioning VÆRIDION as a leader in the next era of regional air travel.
A cinematic 3D animated brand film, in full 4K resolution.
With this brand film, VÆRIDION is now equipped to assert itself as a pioneering force in efficient, all-electric aviation.
By blending Computer Graphics (CG) and artistry with strategic storytelling, we delivered a film that not only showcases the aircraft’s design but also evokes excitement and confidence in its potential. The final piece serves as a marketing tool for investors, stakeholders, and future customers.
VÆRIDION is taking off, and we’re proud to be part of the journey.
To ensure the film effectively communicated VÆRIDION's vision, we began with an in-depth discovery phase. We established a clear understanding of the aircraft’s Unique Selling Points (USPs), its position in the market, upcoming conferences/activations and opportunities to differentiate our film from competing marketing materials.
Technical drawings and baseline CAD models were sourced from the engineering department to serve as the foundation for our visual development.
Through strategic workshops and creative collaboration, we aligned with VÆRIDION on a high-impact visual language that reflected their brand mission and product ambitions. From early storyboards to full animation, every moment was designed to reflect innovation, precision, and the quiet power of next-gen electric aviation.
We analyzed competitor content and paired that with art-directed storytelling to craft a Computer Graphics (CG) aesthetic as forward-thinking as VÆRIDION’s Microliner.
A green-blue palette rooted in VÆRIDION’s brand, slow reveals, in-air flight shots, and technology overlays became core to our visual system; echoing the style and anticipation of premium technology product launches.
Key creative drivers:
Cinematic Narrative - Inspired by the precision and anticipation of premium product launches.
Futuristic Aesthetic - Utilizing a green-blue palette to reinforce VÆRIDION’s brand identity.
Mobility Tech - Integrated with storytelling to elevate brand narrative + product credibility.
To bring structure to the creative vision, we crafted a detailed storyboard outlining each shot, movement, and transition. This visual blueprint helped align our internal team and set clear expectations for pacing, product reveals, and narrative tone.
It served as the foundation for building out scenes with intentionality, ensuring both storytelling and technical precision from day one.
To further align with VÆRIDION’s internal stakeholders, we produced a Ripomatic: a rough pre-visualization (pre-vis) edit using found footage, motion tests, and early Computer Graphics (CG) assets. This allowed us to explore music, pacing, and emotional tone before diving into high-effort production stages. The Ripomatic acted as a collaborative client checkpoint, evolving throughout production as shots matured, keeping the team informed and the vision tightly focused.
This early-phase tool became critical for internal approvals and directional feedback, minimizing revision cycles down the line. By testing visual and audio ideas early, we ensured alignment between creative, marketing, and leadership teams.
Where Engineering Meets Visual Storytelling:
Unified creative vision across departments before heavy production began.
Streamlined feedback loops through iterative previews.
Set tone, pace, and visual language early in the process.
During the Ripomatic phase, we audited VÆRIDION’s engineering-grade CAD files to assess their readiness for high-end animation. While technically precise, the models were optimized for manufacturing—not visual storytelling.
To make them animation-ready, we engaged a 3D modeller who rebuilt the geometry through a full retopology process in Autodesk 3ds Max while creative development ran in parallel.
Once approved and with the retopologised model in hand we moved into look development using Redshift Render in Cinema 4D. Materials like carbon composites and cockpit glass were crafted with photoreal fidelity and full creative control.
The below turntable animation showcases this transformation—from raw CAD, to quad-mesh, to fully shaded cinematic model.
As each scene progressed, we maintained continuous collaboration with VÆRIDION, ensuring alignment with their vision and feedback throughout our production pipeline. Our global team, spanning the US, Brazil, Germany, and Australia, operated in an agile, Scrum-based workflow, allowing us to quickly adapt to changes and iterate on concepts in real-time. By using regular sprint cycles and holding daily internal standups, we maintained seamless communication, regular status updates, and ensured that all deliverables met VÆRIDION's evolving expectations.
In post-production, we leveraged Arbitrary Output Variables (AOVs) to enhance the final renders, giving us precise control over reflections, shadows, and lighting adjustments. This allowed for intricate fine-tuning of each shot’s visual elements, ensuring every detail, down to the smallest light reflection and shadow play, was perfectly balanced.
The final composited sequences were then polished with color grading to achieve a cinematic, high-impact look, aligning with VÆRIDION’s futuristic and sleek brand identity.
We approached each scene with a 'digital cinematography' mindset, continuously optimizing every aspect to maximize visual impact and narrative flow. Our team dynamically adjusted camera angles, refined lighting setups, and tweaked scene elements in real-time, ensuring each shot was tailored to perfection. This iterative process allowed us to fine-tune every detail, creating seamless interactions between the aircraft and its environment while elevating the overall cinematic quality.
To create the powerful transfer of energy effect in the wind turbine shot, we leveraged X-Particles to craft two distinct, yet interconnected particle systems. The first system flowed seamlessly over the turbine’s 3D geometry with gravity. The second system created a vibrant beam of energy, traveling down the center column, symbolizing the flow of power and thematically linking to the reveal of VÆRIDION’s electric aircraft within the hangar. This visually striking effect reinforced the connection between sustainable energy and aviation innovation, blending high-end VFX with the core message of VÆRIDION’s mission.
To further enhance the visual storytelling and reinforce key messaging, we incorporated multiple 2.5D elements in Adobe After Effects. By exporting a virtual camera from our 3D scene, we were able to seamlessly integrate animated text, graphical overlays, and dynamic infographics into the composition. This hybrid technique allowed us to maintain a cohesive visual style while effectively highlighting VÆRIDION's Unique Selling Points (USPs). The integration of these elements in post-production added an extra layer of depth, delivering a more impactful and engaging narrative.
We prioritized clear, consistent communication with VÆRIDION, ensuring real-time feedback integration at every project stage. Our project manager coordinated across time zones to keep the client informed and aligned.
Internally, we tracked progress with a Gantt chart for milestones and a Figma moodboard for shot development, visual references, and creative assets. This system kept our team organized and ensured timely delivery of high-quality, client-approved content.
To extend the film’s impact, we created a suite of supplementary assets tailored for social media, website integration, and large-format conference displays. These assets included vertical and horizontal video cuts, motion graphics, and stills, each optimized for specific platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. By ensuring the content was adaptable across multiple channels, we amplified VÆRIDION’s message, reinforcing its brand presence to reach a broader audience.
